Hello! My name is Gwenne Balcius. I graduated from Clark University with a B.A. in Community, Youth, and Education Studies in 2026 and will graduate from Clark’s 4+1 Accelerated Master’s Program with an M.A. in Public Administration in 2027.
I have worked with children in various capacities for more than seven years and plan to continue doing so in the future as a children’s & youth services librarian. In my work, I advocate for meaningful reading experiences and community spaces. I believe that public libraries are a vital cultural touchpoint that positively impacts children’s social, academic, and personal development.
Outside of school & work, I enjoy reading outside, spending time with my family and friends, and cooking! Farmer’s markets, New England trails, and thrift stores are my happy places. I hope you enjoy my thesis and other Praxis work!
